Music therapists in the state of Georgia are currently licensed and nationally board certified. Our department is honored to be in its 23rd year of serving Fulton County Schools.
We encourage you to explore our site and find out how music therapy makes life and learning better for so many students.
What is music therapy, and how does it differ from music education or "adaptive music"?
On May 1, 2012, Governor Nathan Deal signed SB 414 into law, which established licensure for music therapists in the state of Georgia.
Deep gratitude to Rachel Coon-Arnott, Kirby Carruth, and Jamie George (of the FCS Music Therapy Department) and all of the members of the task force, the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), and the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) for their tireless advocacy.
Welcome - we're glad you're here!
In Loving Memory of David Symons
