LPMT, MT-BC

On May 1, 2012, Governor Nathan Deal signed SB 414 into law. This law established licensure for Music Therapist in Georgia. We owe our deepest gratitude to the following people and organizations for their tireless efforts to gain state recognition in Georgia:
        -Rachel Coon-Arnott         - Kirby Carruth
-Jamie George                  -State task force members
        -American Music Therapy Association (AMTA)
-Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT)

Currently, there are only 10 states that have some form of state recognition.

All professional Music Therapist should have the credentials LPMT, MT-BC, to ethically practice in Georgia.
(Licensed Professional Music Therapist, Music Therapist-Board Certified)
