Amber Weldon-Stephens - New Vice President-Elect of AMTA

The American Music Therapy Association has appointed our department head Amber Weldon-Stephens as Vice President-Elect of the professional organization. She will assume her duties effective January 1, 2014 while continuing to serve FCS. 

We are so happy for her!

From the AMTA website: 

"Amber is well prepared for the office, having served as President of the Music Therapy Association of Georgia, President of the Southeastern Region of AMTA, Council Coordinator on the AMTA Board of Directors, and Local Chair for two AMTA annual conferences and two regional conferences.  In addition, Amber was a candidate for AMTA Vice President Elect in 2005.  Amber leads the largest school system music therapy program in the nation with 13 music therapists serving 65 schools . As an Internship Director, Amber has supervised over 70 interns. The AMTA Board appreciates Amber’s willingness to assume the role of Vice President Elect and pledges its support."
