On May 5th, nearly 600 FCS students and staff (special education) made their way to Woodruff Arts Center to take part in an interactive concert by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, after careful preparation and much anticipation! The concert was made possible by a Kennedy Center/Very Special Arts grant awarded to the FCS Music Therapy Department. It was a varied and moving program, with the theme The History of Struggle, conducted by Michael Palmer and narrated by Ken Meltzer. Enjoy these scenes of preparation, performance, and sharing - more likely to be added! Small ASO ensembles (string quartets and brass quintets) are traveling to Roswell, Centennial, Alpharetta, Tri-Cities, and Banneker high schools to continue the learning process and involve general education students - a fantastic collaboration.
