Continuing Music Therapy Education

12/9/2016

The Music Therapy Association of Georgia hosted 2 continuing education courses for music therapists this past weekend at Clayton State University. Several of the Fulton County Schools music therapists were able to participate in this fun, educational event. Coursework included a session on American Sign Language with Helen Ryan, Speech-Language Pathologist of Fulton County Schools, and Guitar Techniques and Applications with Allison Kerr, Music Therapist of Nashville, Tennessee.

Continuing education coursework is required of all licensed, board-certified music therapists in order to adhere to changing professional practice standards, and in order to maintain licensure and certification. Who knew continuing education could be so informative and fun?
