 What a weekend! On Saturday 3/22, many of us in the FCS Music Therapy Department took part in a benefit called "Songs of Healing" for Beat Teams Atlanta, an initiative spearheaded by Terra Rising Records and Metro Music Therapy of Atlanta. Beat Teams collects new and gently used instruments to give to music therapy and music education programs in need. Many thanks to 45 South Cafe of Norcross for hosting the event! It was incredibly well attended, and the feeling of community among us was strong. In other news, we've been active in events for Exceptional Children's Week, selecting our group of interns for next year, and wrapping up final work (and fun!) with our current interns. And as Vice-President of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), Amber Weldon-Stephens has been traveling to head the planning committee for the next national conference. Merry Spring!
