Humbled and so happy to announce that our department head Amber Weldon-Stephens has been elected President of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), beginning in 2018! Her caring, innovation, and deep commitment to excellence is the foundation for the work we do in Fulton County Schools. After a two-year period of preparation as President-Elect, she will assume the title and responsibilities of President.
It's fitting that this photo (courtesy of AMTA-Pro) shows Amber with one of her beloved mentors, Olin Parker. Dr. Parker is Professor Emeritus of Music and Associate Director Emeritus of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at The University of Georgia. Click here for a fascinating interview with Dr. Parker!
