Spreading Holiday Cheer

12/2/2016

The students at Hillside Elementary are busy preparing for their annual holiday show happening in less than two weeks. The inclusion preschool class, led by Ms. Victorio and Ms. Read, is performing a song that uses sign language. Emily Minkow, the music therapist for Hillside, was able to bring one of her Community-Based Instruction (CBI) students from Centennial High School to act as a "student teacher" for the day since he uses sign language to communicate. He helped teach all the students the musical numbers. All of the students loved spending time with Connor and wished he could be a part of music therapy every week! Ms. Emily stated, "It was a special experience for both the students and Connor, and a day that I will never forget!"
