The music therapists are happy to again come together and join in planning for the new school year in Fulton County!
The year kicked off with meetings and celebrations at our various home schools (most music therapists work in five or more schools), then a gathering with the Adaptive Art, Music, Art, and Drama teachers at Woodruff Arts Center. Yesterday, our department spent the better part of the day mapping out the calendar and systems to best serve our students and integrating new assessment/accountability models. Scheduling, equipment distribution, and sharing of knowledge are all part of the year's beginning. We are thrilled to welcome two new members of our team: Jessica Brodley-Lopez, and Brittany Taylor. Both interned with us last year and bring a wealth of talent, enthusiasm, and compassion to our group. School begins on Monday. We can't wait to see and work with our students, and collaborate with teachers and parents - to make music together in a way that helps students in our Exceptional Education programs more fully participate in life - both at school and in the community.
